❌ SOLD – 2015 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 170″ California King 👑 Camper – Artic White/Japanese Brown

Truck was a first prototype… my first NCV3. It was designed to look a little ugly and rough around the edges. But it had character, and a great feel sitting inside it. It’s not an easy thing to do to build a feel into a vehicle. Very unique, very light, very fuel efficient, great smelling truck with a Pine post style bed. Smelled like a log cabin.

In sticking with the budget, build it anywhere theme of this truck… we cut the tree off the mountain with a chainsaw to make the 6 posts for the bed. People’s first reaction is usually… isn’t that bed heavy? I think it weighed less than 100lbs… and it was fully removable in minutes without tools. and this van weighing in at 6,500lbs, still maintained a 3,500lb load capacity. That’s 2 Tons of bricks if you ever need to load it.

Cold rolled steel panels finished with Japanese Brown and coated with matte clear. Matte clear was a one-off finish option for this particular build that was intended to cut glare. Matte clear is a thick, long lasting, rougher finish. It can always be polished clear. So of you expect to do a lot of cleaning/polishing like I do… matte is a good place to start.

These panels were all hand made, off-grid, with no running water or electricity. This whole truck was designed to be easily repairable in the field. All the fasteners were spec’d to be available at any small town American hardware store.
